A Joyful Path

As we mentioned before, there are four Dimensions in our body: Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual.

These four dimensions have to be in harmony with one another. None of them can be neglected since it will create lack of integrity. In order to start our Inner Journey (Meditation or Moraghebeh), we need to prepare our physical body, mind and emotions. If these three are not in peace and harmony, it will be very difficult to reach our inner source.

1)Physical body : Our physical body is the temple of our soul. We need to take care of it carefully. Our physical body is covered with the universal energy and has its own intelligence for healing. There are over 7 trillion cells working in harmony. We need to learn how to love it and take care of it. Here are some suggestions:

a. Have a discipline for the well being of your physical body -Schedule an exercise plan at least 3 times a week. See what you like most, walking, swimming, etc. This will make you feel more energetic, brings oxygen to the cells of your body, relieves stress and clears the mind.

b. Learn any type of yoga and plan to have it at least for 15 minutes each day. This will create balance. Our body consists of 7 major chakra’s (wheels of energy). Through these chakra’s we will receive the Energy of Spirit at all the time. We need to make sure that these chakras are open, and functioning in the right direction and learn:

·         How to open the chakra’s by practicing yoga

·         How to give energy to our body on a daily basis

c .Eat a good nutritious food. Most fruits and vegetables are living foods filled with the energy. Try to stay away from dead foods like meats, caffeine, sugar and saturated fat.

d. Have a good night’s  sleep to restore and refresh your body for the next day.

e. Learn how to take deep breaths everyday since we are not only bringing oxygen to your lungs, but also the Energy of Spirit (Prana). Every morning and late at night  go outdoors and practice this breathing for at least 10 deep breaths. Inhaling for 4 seconds, holding 4 seconds and releasing 4 seconds. After a week, see how you feel. You will be amazed!!

f. For your physical body, Live well. Have and reach all the materials that you were dreaming about. A beautiful home with all the facilities, a luxurious car and enjoyment vacations.

These are necessities and we need to fulfill them all. They bring us pleasure and happiness that this world can give us. Do not deprive yourself from any of those pleasures; however, in the back of your mind, have this knowing that you have another goal and that is to reach to a true inner joy within sometime during your life. Notice that the material world can not provide the true authentic uninterrupted joy that we all are looking for.

As my unconditional service to you dear viewers, I can guide you towards this path.

2) Mind : Have a discipline to learn for stimulation of your mind. Try to read new books and learn new things every day. We don’t live long enough to experience everything ourselves. So many of those exercises have been already done by others and the lessons to learn is right there. Don’t read any kind of book. Some books are only worthwhile to read once; however, some books needed to be read over and over again on daily basis. I have some of those books that come in handy everyday. Each time I read them, I get a much more profound effect from them which is different than what I felt in the past.

As my unconditional service to you dear viewers, I can guide you towards this path and introduce to you some good valuable books.

3Emotional: We need to prepare our heart to be open and loving. Just a way that we pop and popcorn in microware. The heart needs to pop open and be polished.

Have a discipline to learn how to love. Allow God to love    through you. Enhance yourability to give and receive love. This is to please your heart. This brings peace into your heart. It will bring eternal joy. A permanent joy. You will start loving yourself more. You will be more content with life. More often human beings are looking for true happiness and mostly the message that they receive from the society is to only fulfill their physical and mental needs. Increase our wants and buy more and more. Have more things. Hoping that by having more, we become more. We don’t become more by having more stuff. We become more by being more loving towards others. Give, Give, Give! Give your time, your money to the needy. The joy of it is eternal.

As we just talked about Happiness vs. Joy at the last page, due to importance of it, we need to emphasis it again here in different words, that there is a difference between the Happinessand Joy.

Happiness comes from the outsideworld. The material gains and collections such as a luxurious house, car, vacation and clothes. They are giving us happiness. This happiness will be there for a while and after a while it fades out. Once it is fading out, what our logical mind thinks that we might need a bigger house or better car, indulging ourselves in more luxury. Meanwhile, we will reach to a point that the outside material goods cannot fulfill us. We search for more purpose in life. The more we want, the hungrier we become. We become confused. We are not sure what is wrong. Society does not help either. They want to cure you by selling you more. They brainwash you so that you believe the more you have the better you feel and happier you become. So we get into to the vicious cycle of having more, buying more and are happy for a while and start all over again.

The problem is as Osho says: Head goes on trying to have more because it thinks that by having more, it will become more. It never becomes more, because having can never transform into being.

I believe the real goal to reach is to feel eternal peace and Joy on the inside no matter what is going on the outside. By this I mean, we cannot control life. It will unfold according to its own logic. But you can control the way that you interpret and process what is going on externally for you.

A self integrated person is a person who is only One person. We need to bring out that true Self (Silent watcher, awareness) and let that shine through us. That true Self is always the same. It does not judge, it does not get angry, sad or jealous.

Now that we prepared the physical, mental and emotional dimensions, we are ready to go within and practice Meditation.

Spiritual : (our conscious, take  the responsibility to contribute). This is our inward sense and intuition. It would tell us what is right or wrong. It is the connectivity with the divine guidance. The feeling of it is loving and peaceful, the thought is joyful and the words are truthful.

Meditation (Moraghebeh): As Osho says: Meditation is to be in harmony within and without. Meditation isbeing the harmony. By Meditation, we will try to harmonize all four capacities together.

We need to emphasize that the Meditation (Moraghebeh), is from Eastern culture. There is a difference between the Meditation from Eastern culture and the Western culture.

The main Purpose of Meditation (Moraghebeh) from the Eastern culture is to go within to get to know who we are. It is for a self-realization purpose only. The focus of it is in “nothingness.” It is to discover the authentic Joy within.

The Purpose of Meditation from Western culture is to Concentrate and focuson a subject such as (good health, wealth, personal desires, etc.) The focus of it is manifestation and desire in the outer world.

Here are some initial steps to prepare for Mediation:

First and foremost, talk less. Do not say anything that is unnecessary. What I mean by unnecessary is that, if you don’t say it, it will not effect anything in the world. So when you want to talk, make sure that it is absolutely necessary, otherwise relinquish the need for talking constantly. In the path of self-realization, the important issue is that we start the silence from outside. In other words, be stingy with the words you speak.

Each day, try to fine a few minutes to silence  your mind (inner silence). Once our whole body quiets down, physically, mentally and emotionally, we will betapped to the universal energy. Once your practice silence, you will acquire silent knowledge. In this silence, there is a calculating system that is far more precise and far more accurate and more powerful than anything that is in the limitations of our rational mind.

It will tap you into a wisdom that is genius. You will be enriched with this wisdom and knowing. The mind cannot possibly compete and comprehend this. The mind is not capable to understand it. Sometimes the messages that you receive are totally contradictory with your logical intellect. Our mind is protective. It is often survival-oriented.

Our mind learns the knowledge for survival so it will not understand why you stand for other people’s rights when there is nothing in it for you. The mind only concentrates and calculates profit and loss. If it looks profitable, the mind goes for it. If it is not, the mind rejects it. That is how logical the mind functions.

The messages from our heart and from our higher self are based on certain truth, harmony, love, beauty, gentleness and compassion. It deals with feelings. It heals. It is soothing.

Someone asked the Shaikh Attar, one of the greatest Sufi in Iran, “please give us 10 important keys for reaching to a true happiness”

He response was: 1. Stay silent (Khamoosh baash), 2. Stay silent (Khamoosh baash), 3. Stay silent (Khamoosh baash), 4. Stay silent (Khamoosh baash), 5. Stay silent(Khamoosh baash),…10. Stay silent (Khamoosh baash).

Of course what he means is not only outer silence (not to talk), but also the inner silence (quiet our mind).

Once we meditate and watch our minds coming and going like clouds in the sky, there will be a gap in between the two clouds. As Osho says in regards to Meditation, “In that gap, you see for the first time. Thinking is not there, but knowing happens and that is the point of transformation. You have lived with a mind so long. Suddenly it has stopped. The emptiness is very scary. Once you have taken the jump and seen the other side of the phenomenon and have read the board from the other side, here begins God. Then you are at ease. Then there is no problem-- The mind itself-- is gone. Then one starts living for the first time. Destroy your mind-destroy your ego too-because they are two names for the same thing.”

On next page we will talk, in detail, about the simple methodology of the Meditation and how to silence your mind.
